A Curated Guide to Forte dei Marmi

In this edition of the Libelula Newsletter, it’s all about food experiences.
Forte dei Marmi—where my family and I have spent our summer in our new home—is a town where the number of incredible places to eat feels endless.

I have put together a curated list of must-visit food experiences in Forte and the surrounding area. From cosy, family-run trattorias to Michelin-starred dining, each spot has its unique charm and flavour. Whether you’re here for a weekend or a month, these are these are the spots where every meal feels memorable.

LUNCH

Some places simply shine in the midday sun—whether it’s a table right on the beach, a shady terrace in the centre of town, or a light seafood lunch before an afternoon swim. These are the spots where I love to have lunch.

BEACHSIDE DINING

GILDA

The most beautiful beachside spot for pizza and pasta. Enjoy a plate of vongole or a perfect margherita with your feet in the sand. Come for lunch and stay for the sunset—it’s one of Forte’s quintessential experiences.

SEAFOOD

BAGNO ASSUNTA

A classic beach club setting with a laid-back elegance. Perfect for a long, sunny lunch with the sound of waves in the background—fresh seafood, crisp salads, and a view you’ll never tire of.

PASTA & SEAFOOD

BAMBAISSA

Elegant and contemporary, set right on the beach with views of the sea. Known for its fresh seafood and beautifully prepared pasta, it’s the kind of place where lunch easily stretches into the afternoon.

DINNER

As the sun sets, Forte takes on a different kind of magic. From lively pizzerias to candlelit gardens and elegant Michelin-starred dining, these are the places that make evenings here unforgettable.

TRUFFLE

CASA FIORI CHIARA

A charming, intimate spot where the menu revolves around fresh seafood and seasonal Italian flavours, with their amazing truffle pizza as a favourite. The warm, personal setting makes it perfect for a relaxed yet elegant meal.

PIZZA

BOCCONCINO

Known for the best pizza in Forte and a glass (or two) of perfectly chilled red wine. The atmosphere is lively without being loud, and the staff treat regulars and newcomers with the same easy warmth.

GRILL & PASTA

LA CUCINA DEL GUARDIANO

For hearty, satisfying plates—pizza, grilled meats, and generous antipasti. The kind of place that works equally well for a family gathering or a long evening with friends.

MICHELIN STAR

LORENZO

Service is impeccable, the wine list is extensive, and the dishes are a delicate balance of tradition and innovation. Ideal for a special occasion.

ATMOSPHERE & FOOD

GIACOMO

Located in the beautiful village of Pietrasanta, just a short drive away. The setting is magical—a garden lit with soft lamps—and the food is every bit as memorable. Seafood, fresh pasta, and the kind of desserts you’ll want to linger over.

SEAFOOD

OSTERIA DEL MARTE

For the best seafood in town. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the day’s catch displayed like jewels on ice. The crudo is exceptional, and the pasta with clams is one of a kind.

Whether you’re here for a few days or the whole summer, Forte dei Marmi has a way of making every meal feel special. I hope this guide inspires your next lunch by the sea or dinner under the stars—and that you visit some of my favourite places here.
